College Counseling

Why Consult a College Counselor or Education Advisor?

Because we help build a powerful education plan for career success

Since most jobs in the 21st century will require technical expertise and training, it is helpful to ensure your time and funds are spent with a qualified college and education advisor, a college counselor who can provide the profession advice to help make informed decision about career or college. Sending your child to college can be a $50,000 to $250,000 investment. That's a lot of money for someone who is "not sure":

  • NOT SURE of what school to attend
  • NOT SURE of what major to seek as a course of study
  • NOT SURE of what career to pursue
  • NOT SURE of "What I want to do"

That uncertainty can be very costly with lost credits, change of major, transfer to another school, or even just dropping out (an all-to-common occurrence). Through the National Career Development Guidelines (NCDG), a program of testing and college counseling has been developed that introduces educational advising and planning. With a trained education counselor and career college planner, this approach examines issues of personal growth, empowerment, and transition as a foundation for development. Interests, attitudes, values and skills are explored as students investigate various academic career college option and education counseling requirements and environments with the purpose of formulating an integrated study/career plan with the help of our education advisor and college counselor.

These problems can be especially severe when the individual exhibits learning disabilities.

Our college and education counseling and advising services are equally appropriate for high-school juniors and seniors about to choose a school or major, children and adults with learning disabilities, as well as to career changers.
